The Scrabble board game is a classic word game where players use lettered tiles to create words on a game board. Here’s how it works:

  1. Game Setup: The game board is placed on a flat surface, and each player draws seven letter tiles from a bag. The remaining tiles are placed face down to form a draw pile.
  2. Turn Sequence: Players take turns forming words on the board using their letter tiles. Words must be formed horizontally or vertically, with each new word connecting to an existing word on the board. The first word played must cover the center square of the board.
  3. Scoring: Each letter tile has a point value, and players earn points based on the total value of the letters in the words they form. Some spaces on the board, such as double or triple letter and word score spaces, can multiply the point value of a word or letter.
  4. Tile Exchange: On their turn, players can choose to exchange one or more of their letter tiles for new ones from the draw pile. However, doing so forfeits their turn.
  5. Challenges: If a player forms a word that other players believe is not valid, they can challenge it. If the word is found to be invalid, the player who formed it loses their turn, and the word is removed from the board.
  6. End of Game: The game ends when all letter tiles have been drawn from the bag, and one player has used all of their tiles, or when no more valid words can be formed. The player with the highest score at the end of the game wins.
